This is really happening...

Since finding out in February that we were moving across the "pond", it has been a wild ride, but we are all happy to be together again in the same country. I plan on continuing to blog about different experiences we have throughout this journey.  I love reading blogs, so I decided this would be a fun way to let others know what we were up to; including the ups and downs of this experience!

The flight:  This was one of my biggest fears going into this... a one year old on a long flight???  Were we crazy?  It turned out to go really well, Adalyn slept for about 6 out of the 7 hours.  Eliza on the other hand, was so interested in everything going on around her that it took her about three hours to get sleepy, and she slept for four hours.  No tears! Very happy mommy and daddy!  The girls also did great with jet lag, Eliza only had a rough night the first night, and since then, both have slept through the night.

We arrived and after about 14 total hours in route, we were "home."  Chris had picked out the house, and he did a great job!  I am very pleased- I will post pictures once it is free of suitcases everywhere!

Our first weekend here, we have already spent a lot of time exploring.  Right now in Geneva, they are celebrating, "Fetes de Geneva". basically equivalent to our 4th of July, but it is a month long celebration.  We spent time down by the lake this weekend, enjoying a picnic, riding rides at the carnival, and playing at the park.  The girls have adjusted so well and seem to be enjoying all the new sights!

Today was our first day on our own- Chris went to work- so it was time for the girls and I to explore! I practiced driving yesterday, so I felt ready to take on the crazy roads!  Thankfully, they drive on the right side, but unfortunately, the roads are so narrow and they love roundabouts!  Thankfully, the GPS in our car is excellent, we have named her "Helen" and she is wonderful.  The girls and I went to the grocery store in the morning and in the afternoon we found a mall!!  Didn't take long to find a mall!

We hope you enjoy following the blog -  I will probably post more pictures to the blog than Facebook, since many family members don't have Facebook- (including Chris!)
