January in Geneva

Since we arrived back to Switzerland after our wonderful trip to Minnesota, we have been busy embracing winter.  The first week back was basically devoted to getting back on schedule.  Since then, the girls have been ice skating, skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing.  Fortunately, we are able to enjoy outdoor activities because the temperature rarely goes below 32 degrees.  It occasionally snows in Geneva, but it is a heavy snow that usually melts by the end of the day.  If we want snow, we drive twenty minutes to the mountains and find lots of snow.

Snowshoeing on Mount Saleve

She wasn't excited about wearing skates, but loved running around on the ice with the walker!

Eliza loved being buried in the snow-

Last year, Adalyn did six ski lessons in the French Alps and really enjoyed it and wanted to do it again.  Eliza, who will be three in March, also wanted to ski, so we signed her up too!  Both girls were very anxious for ski season to begin.  Adalyn picked up right where she left last year and was able to go down the piste all by herself over and over again!  Eliza, was in the kiddie area, where they practice skiing on flat land and practice going on the "magic carpet."  She did awesome!  They are both looking forward to their next lesson this weekend.

We look forward to 2016 and the new adventures that lie ahead.  We are especially looking forward to hosting more family and friends.  Our first visitors of 2016 will be Chris' parents who arrive next week!

A few pictures from our time spent back home in Minnesota for the holidays. We love having the opportunity to be home for the holidays and spending time with family and friends.

Eliza reading the emergency info- she told me, "Look mommy, we are going swimming today!"
I said an extra prayer.

We surprised my niece at her school one day!

Cousin Fun! They have sooooo much fun together!

My sister is having a baby!
We were able to host a baby shower for her while we were back.
